Sydney is set for the new Waterloo Metro Quarter, a 20-hectare space in the inner south that will be transformed into public plazas, retail laneways and community spaces. Over Waterloo Station, ASX-listed Mirvac and partner John Holland have lodged plans for a $900 million precinct.
In conjunction with the NSW Government, the project has worked closely with local community groups as well, to create public spaces and convenient housing that benefits the growing community.
With a childcare centre and on-site health services, the precinct will also boast a 17-storey office building, a 24-storey apartment building and a 25-storey student accommodation building.
In a post-Covid-19 lifestyle, more people will look to work closer to home and prefer green environments, paving the way for a greener future in Sydney.
The NSW state government projects this development will generate up to 600 construction jobs, with a further 3,500 jobs also estimated to fuel the economy once completed.
