A number of design, engineering, procurement and construction contracts in the renewables and utility sector have just been secured by UGL. UGL is an engineering subsidiary of CIMIC Group and will now be at the head of upcoming wind farm projects for 2023 and 2024 in Australia.
The projects include the MacIntyre Wind Farm Precinct Connection Project in Queensland, an 88MW solar farm for APA in Queensland and an 87MW solar farm and substation upgrade at Tailem Bend for Vena Energy in South Australia.
At the completion of the MacIntyre Wind Farm, by ACCIONA and CleanCo, the site will cover 36,000 hectares of land. This will make it one of the largest onshore wind farms in the world.
This comes as Australia moves towards renewable energy and strives for a greener approach to electricity, construction and engineering as a whole.
UGL, now a market leader in Australian renewables, has experience in critical power infrastructure across transmission lines, solar farms and other renewables, with the Victorian Big Battery project and the Wallgrove Grid Battery project in New South Wales.
