Civmec selected for $1.3B lithium plant in WA

Construction of the largest lithium hydroxide plant in Western Australia is in progress, the Albemarle Kemerton Plant will be built by multi-disciplinary heavy engineering and construction provider Civmec at the Kemerton strategic industrial area near Bunbury.

Located approximately 160 kilometres south of Perth, the Albemarle Kemerton Plant will initially comprise of three production trains, each producing 20,000 tonnes per annum of lithium hydroxide, with the capacity to add two more trains to expand to 100,000 tonnes a year by 2025.

Civmec’s scope of work includes Structural, Mechanical and Piping works for the Hydromet with site works expected to be complete by March 2021.

300 personnel will be required on site during the delivery of the of the current defined scope of works, this will provide considerable opportunity for skilled people in the region.
