South Australia’s Repat health precinct has received a major cash injection with the State and Federal Government announcing a $70 million funding agreement.
The $70 million revamp will comprise of the following:
The Federal Government has committed $30 million to the development, whilst the State Government will invest a further $40 million in the precinct.
Federal Minister for Health Greg Hunt said the restored facility aims to make a patient’s transition to the community easier.
“I’m delighted to be able to deliver a new state-of-the-art facility for brain and spinal rehabilitation patients which will be co-located with a range of specialised services and which will make a patient’s transition to the community easier,” Hunt said.
“This funding commitment ensures we are one step closer to reactivating and revitalising what will be a critical part of South Australia’s future health system.”
Future generations will enjoy the Repat Chapel, Remembrance Gardens, Museum and SPF Hall as they will be protected and preserved as community assets.
