The awards attracted 248 entries across 14 categories with the majority being public projects. 66 awards were given on the night including named awards, architecture awards and commendations from 89 shortlisted projects. The winners were announced on Friday 28 June at a dinner hosted by the Victorian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects.
Peter Elliott Architecture and Urban Design hold the title for the evening’s most recognised project. Parliament of Victoria Members’ Annexe building took home five awards including the well-respected Melbourne Prize and Victorian Architecture Medal, and three named awards across Urban Design, Public Architecture, Sustainable Architecture, as well as a commendation for Heritage.
Rosemary Burne, Jury Chair for Public Architecture and the Chair of Juries for the entire state awards said, ‘The project has been thoughtfully conceived from all design aspects – including urban design, heritage, sustainability, interiors and landscape.’
The winners of awards and named awards will advance to the National Architecture Awards, which will be announced on 7 November.
