Construction begins on $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane

Queen’s Wharf Brisbane is ready to enter a new stage in the $3.6 billion Integrated Resort Development as work transitions from excavation to construction. 

Following two and a half years of demolition and excavation work, Multiplex has begun works on the construction of Waterline Park and the Goodwill Extension area upgrade. The extension will see the transformation of a 500 metre stretch of the Bicentennial Bikeway from the Goodwill Bridge to the area behind 1 William Street. It will also comprise of a 450 metre walkway above the Brisbane River.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said over the past two-and-a-half years this big project has seen demolition and a giant excavation, and is now beginning to go upwards.

“Having the first of the big cranes installed on-site is another exciting milestone,” the Premier said.

“At peak construction there will be as many as 2000 workers on site and once completed Queen’s Wharf will create up to 10,000 more jobs.
