Underground Communications Technician

Looking for an experienced Comms Techs for an Underground Hardrock Mine Site in North Queensland, $65 - $75ph + Super. FIFO Brisbane or Townsville.

The Role

Reporting into the shift supervisor on site, you'll enjoy working within a team of experience UG mining trades professionals. Your duties will see you in a role that will involve:

• Installing and maintenance of underground communications reticulation
• Equipment audits and statutory checks
• Sandvik AutoMine and CAT RCT installs and network configurations
• Working UG for the shift in hot and humid conditions

FIFO/ DIDO

Great opportunity to secure a role on a 7:7 roster from Brisbane or Townsville or alternately DIDO from Mount Isa or Cloncurry.

• Commercial flights from Brisbane to Cloncurry
• DIDO from Mount Isa + Cloncurry region
• Gain Commercial Frequent Flyer Points if FIFO.

The Site

• This UG hard rock mine is located in N.QLD, in the Mt Isa region. It offers;-
• Accommodation and the airport are close to the mine, so limited travel in and out
• Underground Lead, Zinc & Silver mine.
• 10 + year mine life
• A high standard of safety
• Based near Mount Isa, a prominent mining town with an array of surrounding mine sites and opportunities

Your Background

You will have come from a trade qualified background and have strong experience working in the mining sector or within heavy industry. UG mining experience is highly regarded however not essential. Your skills and attributes will include;-

• Mining and heavy industrial experience well regarded but not essential
• Communications Trade Certificate or QLD Electrical Licence.
• Experience in two-way radio leaky feeder systems.
• High level communications equipment installation standards
• Sandvik AutoMine AND/OR CAT RCT experience
• Excellent attitude towards work and safety
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• High attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality results
• Strong acumen for learning developing - Giving everything a good crack
• Fault finding and diagnostics experience
• Looking to continue or start your mining career
