The Mine

Located in western Tasmania, this hard rock mine site is supported by a comfortable and well-equipped mining camp with a high standard of meals on offer.

Nature and Roster

For those keen to secure a long-term role, the site offers the following arrangements; -

  • DIDO from anywhere in Tasmania such as Burnie, Launceston or Hobart
  • Flexible rostering arrangements offered to those looking to DIDO
  • Relocate to anywhere in Tasmania with assistance (flights, storage, shipment of 1x car)
  • Residential roster for those willing to relocate to and reside in the local region (9-day fortnight)


The Role

Reporting to the Manager of Resource Development and Planning, this position supervises the Production Geology function within the Resource Department, including grade control, production reporting and reconciliation, resource evaluation and orebody grade control drilling programs. Your duties will include (but not limited to); -

  • Ensure that production geological tasks align with daily, weekly, and monthly mining plans
  • Develop and uphold standards for managing geological data, ensuring that all necessary geological and geotechnical information is recorded
  • Establish and maintain geological data requirements for conducting stope reviews and reconciliation as needed
  • Complete geological information required for daily, weekly, and monthly production reports
  • Perform the monthly mine-to-mill reconciliation process
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of existing systems and processes and identify areas for enhancement
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the Production Geology team and ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all directives from the Manager of Resource Development and Planning


Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will come from a metalliferous underground mining environment and come armed with the following; -

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Competent user of Microsoft Suite & Deswik
  • C-Class Drivers Licence
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
