Seeking a Project Manager to lead a critical initiative and evaluate our manufacturing operations and determine the optimal path forward.

What's on offer

Our clients warehouse lease is due to be renewed mid-2025 and before the business resign, they would like to bring in a Project Manager to manage the process and cost up other options on resigning for 12 months, sourcing other potential warehouses, condensing the manufacturing side of the business and looking for a supplier that the business can partner with. This would also involve costing up the de-mobilization and selling of all equipment. The ideal applicant will join the company on a contractual basis for 6-8 months, possess estimating and project management experience and ideally have knowledge of joinery and metal work.

About You

  • Open to a contractual basis for 6-8 months
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering or related field
  • Proven Experience as a Project Manager in the joinery or metalwork industries
  • Experience managing business costings and sourcing third party suppliers
  • Project management experience and estimating experience
  • Experience and/or understanding of running a change in business direction process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management, multi-tasking and prioritising skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full working rights in Australia

Duties:

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of our current manufacturing operations, including efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Identify and evaluate potential outsourcing partners, negotiating favourable terms and service level agreements.
  • Develop detailed transition plans for any necessary changes, including asset disposal, workforce adjustments, and implementation of new processes.
  • If required, structure the business or relevant assets for sale, including valuation and negotiation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition and minimize disruptions.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks and challenges.
