The Role - Environmental Superintendent:
As the Environmental Superintendent, you'll be pivotal in ensuring the mine meets all environmental obligations, working to uphold local, state, and federal regulations. You'll manage environmental risks, oversee field assessments, and lead a team of professionals, driving continuous improvement across the site. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring full compliance with environmental standards and legislation
- Overseeing environmental sampling, monitoring, and reporting
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of environmental specialists
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating environmental risks
- Managing contractors for environmental monitoring
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Your Skills & Experience:
We're looking for someone who has:
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role on a metalliferous mine site
- A deep understanding of environmental legislation and compliance in QLD
- Strong skills in field-based assessments, environmental monitoring, and reporting
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team
- Excellent communication, time management, and relationship-building skills
