My Client:

A well established Melbourne family home builder is looking for a Sales Estimator to join the team.

Building more than 1,000 homes a year, this is a down to earth, open minded and welcoming business. We consider experience from the construction industry, not just homes.

The Role:

Report to the Estimating Manager, who has strong industry knowledge, an easy approach, and who encourages a collaborative work environment.

The new role will involve:

· Provide accurate pricing for contracts and variations including appropriate margin considerations

· Create written content for material items

· Obtain relevant quotes and pricing for non-standard variations

· Offer technical support to team members and sales staff

· Produce accurate documentation within budgeted timelines

· Maintaining a thorough knowledge of company products and services

· Excellent customer service skills, working with supervisors, suppliers, trades people, agents and contractors, maintaining and improving at all times.

What you need:

You will ideally have the following criteria:

· Excellent communication skills, written & verbal

· Evidence of proactive qualities and ability to work autonomously

· 2+ years experience in construction estimating

· Ability to work with sales people, and understanding of their role and urgency

· Construction knowledge and a trade background favoured

· Competency with Microsoft Office and experience working with an estimating system
