Job Title: Civil Estimator

Location: Geelong, VIC

My client is a leading civil subcontractor based in Geelong, Victoria. They specialise in delivering high-quality civil construction projects across a range of sectors, including roads, rail, earthworks, pavements, and drainage. They work closely with major tier 1 contractors on significant infrastructure projects throughout Australia. With a strong focus on innovation and safety, they are experiencing significant growth and are seeking a talented and driven Civil Estimator to join their dynamic team.

About the Role:

The Civil Estimator will play a crucial role in the company's continued success by accurately estimating the cost and resources required for a diverse range of civil construction projects. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing detailed and accurate quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
• Analysing tender documents, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Sourcing and evaluating subcontractor quotes.
• Estimating labor, plant, materials, and other project costs.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions and presentations.
• Providing cost analysis and reporting on project performance.
• Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in estimating and construction.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Civil Estimator within the Australian construction industry, ideally with a focus on infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, materials, and equipment.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, WinEst, or similar.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field are highly desirable.
