The Mine & Roster

The company's underground gold mining operation is located in the northern Yandal greenstone belt and has been open since 1995. As one of the largest gold operations in the region, this is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a slick and robust underground mining operation.

The Role

As a Senior Mining Engineer reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will take on a crucial role in leading and coordinating the technical team to ensure the safe and efficient execution of the weekly mining plan. This position offers the chance to lead a team of skilled Drill & Blast Engineers, navigate diverse and complex mining methods, and drive alignment with operational objectives. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and mentor team of Drill and Blast, Mine Planning, Ventilation & Infrastructure Engineers.
  • In absence of the Alternate Underground Manager, will be required to fill the role of Alternate Underground Manager.
  • Responsibility for the development of functional work plans for the Mining Department ensuring production and strategic requirements are met.
  • Review and approve production drilling and charging plans.
  • Conceptualise, initiate, present and implement specific improvement projects including any specific infrastructure projects required for productivity and profitability gains by the mine.
  • Coordinate and manage the stope reconciliation process generating and keeping the required internal reporting records such as end of month & end of stope reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and manage the end of month summaries and reports and any other measures that may be required to enable good management of the mine and the mining contract (e.g. KPI rising summary report, Mining EOM report.)

Your Skills and Experience

You are required to possess and demonstrate the following:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • WA First Class Mine Manager Certification and underground practical time(or the ability to acquire it).
  • Proficient in mine planning and design software, particularly Deswik CAD, Scheduler, or similar tools, as well as Ventsim.
