Shopfitting Estimator – Retail Fitout

My Client is a leading shopfitting company renowned for its bespoke joinery and fitout services across the retail, hospitality & commercial interiors industry. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional quality and exceeding client expectations. Seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join their growing team.

The Role:

As an Estimator, you will be instrumental in preparing accurate and comprehensive project costings, managing material take-offs, and overseeing supplier relationships. You will work closely with Project Managers and Directors, contributing to successful project delivery and playing a key role in fostering client relationships and generating new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed and itemized quotations for all shopfitting projects, including custom cabinetry, for client presentation.
• Conduct precise material take-offs, ensuring all on-site requirements are thoroughly accounted for.
• Maintain and update estimating software and cost spreadsheets to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Conduct post-project cost analysis to identify areas for improvement in estimation accuracy.
• Solicit and compare competitive quotes from contractors and subcontractors.
• Proactively manage relationships with subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate forecasting and effective cash flow management.
• Communicate all supplier invoices and anticipated expenses to the finance team for efficient cash flow management.
• Provide expert trade knowledge and insights to senior management and directors.
• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, actively seeking new business opportunities to drive company growth.

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in shopfitting or commercial construction estimating, with a strong emphasis on joinery and cabinetry.
• Comprehensive understanding of trade services and materials used in shopfitting projects.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret architectural plans, construction drawings, and scopes of work.
• On-site construction experience is highly desirable.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and estimating software.
• Experience in commercial fitout (full scope of works) estimating is a plus.
