About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join one of our key clients, a leading residential homebuilder. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong understanding of settlements, contracts, and the homebuilding industry. You will manage financial transactions, confirm deposit receipts, issue contracts, and oversee settlement processes for residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management:
- Issue contracts and ensure terms align with project specifications.
- Confirm deposits have been received and are recorded accurately.

Settlements & Billing:
- Oversee settlement processes for residential projects, including invoicing and tracking progress payments.
- Resolve discrepancies related to settlements and final payments.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and monitor cash flow.

Financial Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (balance sheets, profit and loss statements).
- Maintain registers for accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Keep an organized filing system for all financial documents (contracts, invoices, receipts).

Compliance & Tax Coordination:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws.
- Coordinate with conveyancer, external accountant, and ATO to manage tax-related matters and ensure compliance.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in the construction or homebuilding industry (not essential).
- Strong understanding of settlements, contracts, and progress payment structures.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant degree in Accounting or Finance.
