Roster

You will enjoy working B2B with your Mining Superintendent counterpart, who looks after the opposite panels and has many years of experience on site. You roster will include;-

• 8 days on, 6 days off - day shift only
• 6:00am start on Wednesdays to start the shift and be involved with pre-starts
• 2:00pm (aprox) finish on day 8 giving you time to head home early

Your location

• For those looking for a residential role where you'll be able to return home each evening, then is role offers a great opportunity to live in Zeehan, Strahan, Queenstown or Rosebery
• For those to relocate to elsewhere in Tasmania and DIDO, accommodation and meals are provided in the camp
• Relocation costs will be paid to anywhere in Tasmania
• For those looking for a residential role, you'll enjoy receiving a $9,500 residential allowance per annum

The Role

In this role you will enjoy managing 4 shift bosses and around 30 operations across production and development crews. You'll also enjoy working closely with your B2B, a contactor superintendent and an experience administration team. Your duties will include;-

• The Mining Superintendent reports directly to the Mine Manager, playing a key role in shaping the site's success.
• Oversee and drive daily operations, ensuring seamless production, optimal resource allocation, and maximum equipment efficiency.
• Develop and implement comprehensive mine plans, working in close collaboration with technical services, geology, and cross-functional teams to achieve peak performance.
• Align production goals with long-term mine development strategies and quarterly forecasts, ensuring sustainable growth.
• Work hand-in-hand with HR to attract, recruit, and onboard top-tier operators for the mining team.
• Set and uphold the highest standards of leadership for shift bosses, ensuring excellence in safety, performance, and team management.
• Support the effective management of contractors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with operational goals.
• Lead by example, actively coaching and mentoring the team to cultivate a strong talent pipeline and drive succession planning for future leadership.

Your Skills and Experience:

Your 3-5+ years recent experience as a Mining Superintendent or Foreman will put you in a great position with taking this role on and being successful. You will also have/ be;-

• Excellent leadership qualities and the ability to effectively manage teams of UG operators
• Come from a career in UG hard rock mining (operations or engineering)
• The ability to manage safety to the highest level
• Able to communicate and build relationships at all levels across the site
• Capable and competent with computer systems and software
