The Site and FIFO

This UG hard rock mine is located in North Queensland, in the Mt Isa region. With a contract running until December 2025, the site offers:

• An attractive, modern camp setup with good facilities (gym, wet mess, etc.)
• Close proximity to the mine, minimizing travel time
• A high standard of food and quality canteen
• A 2:2 roster where you'll fly in on company time and out on your time

The Role and Duties

You will be part of a team of specialist tradespeople working on a wide range of UG mining equipment in the workshop and the field. Your duties will include:

• 90% surface workshop maintenance duties
  • Problem-solving, diagnostics, servicing, and general repairs
• 10% field service breakdowns
  • Breakdown response, fault-finding, and diagnostics
• Machinery - drills, boggers, trucks, charge-up equipment, ITs

Roster & Hours

• 7 day shifts, 7 night shifts, 14 days off - 12-hour shifts
• Fly to site on the morning of day 1, fly home after night shift on shift 14
• FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns (fly in on company time, fly home on yours)

Your Value

You will have experience as a Diesel Mechanic in a heavy industry sector and a desire to develop your skills in the UG mining industry. Other attributes include:

• Trade qualifications in automotive or heavy diesel
• Diesel machinery maintenance experience (heavy vehicles, civil, AG, or mining)
• Open-cut or UG mining experience (highly regarded, not essential)
• Ability to work in the field and workshop
• A team player with a great attitude toward work
