About the Company:
Our client is a reputable high-end and reno/extension building company based in Melbourne, specializing in delivering high-quality homes and projects. They are committed to excellence in every aspect of their work, from design and construction to customer service. Their team is growing, and as a result are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Contracts Administrator with basic estimating experience to join the team.

The Role:
This motivated Contracts Administrator will manage and coordinate contracts, ensuring smooth project delivery. In addition to contract administration duties, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with basic estimating tasks, contributing to project cost planning, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer residential building contracts from inception to completion.

  • Review and negotiate contract terms, variations, and claims.

  • Coordinate subcontractor agreements and manage relationships with suppliers and trades.

  • Assist with basic estimating, including cost estimation, material take-offs, and project budgeting.

  • Prepare and manage project documentation such as contracts, scope of works, and project reports.

  • Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with timelines, budgets, and contract specifications.

  • Handle invoicing and payment claims for contractors and suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.

  • Assist with client communications and ensure their expectations are met.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in building coordination within the construction industry.

  • Basic estimating skills with the ability to calculate material costs, labor, and project expenses is preferred but not essential

  • Strong understanding of residential construction processes and contracts.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and Databuild is essential

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • A relevant qualification in construction management, building, or a related field is preferred.
