$130M five star Chadstone hotel opens its doors in Melbourne

The Chadstone Hotel located at Chadstone Shopping Centre was constructed by Hickory Group in just over 18 months creating over 1200 jobs during the construction phase.

The hotel that consists of 250 luxury rooms has become part of the Chadstone Shopping Centre with a connection between the centre and Tower One offices.

The 12 story hotel features a day spa, a gym and a rooftop infinity swimming pool, plus two restaurants, lounge bar, and a ballroom capable of hosting functions for up to 400 people.

The hotel development was a key element of Chadstone’s masterplan which will help build the area’s profile as being a world-class shopping, dining and entertainment destination.

Victorian Suburban Development Minister Marlene Kairouz, said the project was a $130 million vote of confidence in Melbourne and the inner south-east, which will help provide jobs and create opportunities for locals.

“Across Melbourne, we’re getting on with making our suburbs even better places to live, work and play.”

AccorHotels will manage the 250-room luxury hotel under its MGallery by Sofitel brand which is set to create a few hundred jobs now it is complete.

Designed by leading Melbourne-based architects, Bates Smart, it will be the first hotel to target a 5 Star Green Star rating using the new generation Green Star – Design/As Built v1.1 rating tool.
