Perth is set to build the first comprehensive university campus in the CBD. The contract for the design has been awarded to several architectural firms including Australia based companies Lyons, Silver Thomas Hanley and international architects Haworth Tomkins.
The campus is being jointly funded by the Australian and Western Australian Governments and ECU. The project is expected to cost $695 million.
The campus will be designed to accommodate 8,000 students and 1,200 staff and is scheduled to be opened in 2025.
A key feature of the new campus will be the university’s world class Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, which will join Perth’s leading arts and cultural precinct.
The project is set to deliver more than $7.5 billion in economic value over the long term. Construction is set to commence in 2022.
