Due to the ongoing effects of Covid-19, the latest report from nPlan shows that civil construction projects now stand at an average of more than 200 days of median delay. This figure has more than doubled since before the pandemic.
nPlan is a construction project machine learning software provider that analyses a dataset containing more than 500,000 construction schedules. These cover major projects across eight countries. nPlan’s data focuses mainly on civil projects, rather than residential, which are larger and more complex in scale.
With consistent lockdowns in cities, industry restrictions and staff shortages, these delays are to be expected.
However, with the delay also comes consistent demand and Australia is preparing to deliver a massive volume of road and rail projects for 2022 and 2023.
CEO of nPlan Dev amrita says that project owners and managers can address these challenges with better project forecasting and risk management.
