According to the latest report from CommSec State of the States, Victoria is the strongest state for construction work, just before Tasmania, South Australia and NSW.
In the last year, the state has also had more dwellings approved than any other. Treasurer Tim Pallas said, we are delivering the State’s biggest ever infrastructure agenda, building schools, hospitals, roads and rail while backing our economic recovery and creating more jobs.
Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that Victoria not only improved its performance for relative dwelling starts but also created 25,000 new jobs.
Victorian Treasurer also says that the state aims to continue this support in the construction industry as they continue to invest in projects that deliver strong recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
