Evri Group, one of the largest private developers in Canberra, has lodged plans for a $150-million build-to-rent precinct. This precinct will be located in the former light industrial area of Braddon in the ACT.
Build-to-rent apartment living continues to gain traction as the pandemic eases on the real estate market and city dwellers and investors look back to apartment living.
Designed by architects Fender Katsalidis, the project comprises 3 towers over basement parking, with room enough for 480 vehicles. The project will also include ground-level retail spaces and a pedestrian laneway that links to the train station.
The centrepiece of the development will be a 13-storey building featuring 333 apartments. The precinct’s amenities will include a wellness centre, yoga studio, communal rooftop gardens, resident’s swimming pool, cinema and a games and function room.
The project will be Evri Group’s first build-to-rent venture and comes as a response to Canberra’s current rental crisis.
