Australia’s Leading Construction Firms Continue to Get Projects off the Ground

Australia’s top 10 leading construction firms have continued to get projects and city-shaping developments off the ground, despite the numerous challenges over the past 2 years.

According to BCI’s inaugural Construction League, in partnership with The Urban Developer, here are the country’s top 10 construction firms, based on the total value of projects that commenced construction in 2021:

1. Lendlease – Commenced 80 projects in 2021 to the value of $20.6 billion. Sydney-based.
2. Multiplex – Commenced 14 projects in 2021 to the value of $4.6 billion. Operates in Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Canada.
3. Built – Commended 89 projects in 2021 to the value of $2.9 billion. Sydney-based and operating in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
4. Hutchinson Builders – Commenced 205 projects in 2021 to the value to $2.7 billion. Brisbane-based.
5. Adco Constructions – Commenced 43 projects in 2021 to the value of $1.93 billion. Sydney-based.
6. Icon Construction – Commenced 24 projects in 2021 to the value of $1.8 billion. Operates in Victoria and New South wales as well as New Zealand.
7. Hickory Group – Commenced 11 projects in 2021 to the value of $1.6 billion. Melbourne-based.
8. Hansen Yuncken – Commenced 41 projects in 2021 to the value of $1.4 billion. Melbourne-based and operating in Hobart, Adelaide, Brisbane and the Northern Territory.
9. Kane Constructions – Commenced 87 projects in 2021 to the value of $1.35 billion. Melbourne-based and operating in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra.
10. Deicorp – Commenced 10 projects in 2021 to the value of $1.33 billion. Sydney-based.
