Best Construction Projects Unveiled

The best civil and commercial construction projects in Australia for 2021-2022 have now been unveiled by Engineers Australia and the Australian Constructors Association.

Taking out the win was John Holland, CPB Contractors and Ghella Joint Venture, the Sydney Metro City & Southwest Tunnel and Station Excavation (TSE). This project received the 2022 Australian Construction Achievement Award.

The project includes 6 new underground train stations, built underneath the Sydney Harbour. This is the first time a station has been built underneath the Harbour, making history for New South Wales and the country as a whole.

More than 1,000 previously unemployed young people were employed on the project and despite many challenges, Jon Davies, the CEO of Australian Constructors Association said the industry continues to excel.

• The Quay Quarter Project in NSW
• The Regency Road to Pym Street Project
• The Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade
