The NSW Government has selected the joint venture between CPB Contractors and UGL to deliver Australia’s biggest public transport project.
The Sydney Metro City & Southwest project will award the joint venture a sum of $1.376 billion for the works that are scheduled to conclude in 2024.
CPB Contractors and UGL will deliver an end-to-end result that includes the design, build and commissioning of the project.
“As Australia’s leading systems contractor in the transportation sector, the Sydney Metro City and Southwest Line-Wide Works package will continue our relationship and strong performance with Sydney Metro. The involvement of our in-house operation and maintenance teams throughout the design and construct phases will optimise operational performance at the project,” UGL Managing Director, Jason Spears said.
The project will a include a new twin 15 kilometer Metro tunnel (Chatswood to Sydenham), expansion of the existing Rouse Hill and Marrickville Sydney Metro Training Facilities and tunnel ventilation, electrical and mechanical upgrades for seven underground stations.
