Following the initial expansion of the Freeway, stage two will include an extra 36km of new lanes which will take the overall cost to about $1.1bn
The overly congested arterial will go from eight to ten between Springvale Road and Eastlink and six lanes will be added between Clyde and Cardinia roads.

Major construction is set to commence in late 2020 and is expected to be completed by late 2022.
